About Me
After a long and varied career in Industry I took early retirement which gave me time to rekindle my passion for making bespoke furniture from Scottish hardwoods.
In 2008 I was fortunate enough to be introduced to a group of people who run the local Community Woodland (Wooplaw) near Stow in the Scottish Borders. This, in turn, afforded me the opportunity to meet a wide variety of BESPOKE furniture makers in the Scottish Borders which then led me in the direction of having my first piece of furniture for sale in BuyDesign one of the finest galleries in the Scottish Borders. In late 2008 BuyDesign closed their doors for a short period of time which made me explore other possible galleries to display and sell my work. I have since had work sold in the Flat Cat Gallery Lauder, Crafthouse Gallery Coldstream and No 4 Gallery St Abbs.
In the summer of 2009 I was delighted to learn that Buy Design Gallery had re-opened their gallery and I was able to renew my working association with them. I have been very pleased with the feedback from customers of BuyDesign who have admired and purchased pieces of my work.
I am a member of Crossing-Borders who are a group of professional artists and craftspeople living throughout north Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. This association has given me the chance to work with other artists and to use various mediums which I have included in some of my work (natural stone, metal and glass). I am also a member of Scottish Furniture Makers' Association (SFMA)
